The 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z arrives as a street fighter that packs power with advanced state of the art technology and sets new standards of a sub-400cc performance. Priced at 1.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) this flagship Pulsar has been redesigned as per the inputs of the riders resulting in exciting performance and unbeatable value. Its muscular look and upgraded stabilization will make it ready to conquer the Indian roads and rival against names such as KTM 390 Duke and the Triumph Speed 400. Ok, now is time to explore what is so special about this bike.
Performance Packed Design
At the core of the 2025 NS400Z, is its 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled powerhouse which has been given a 3 PS bump up over its predecessor. Bajaj has done a bit of work on the internals especially the forged piston, reworked valve timing and improved intake ducts. This raises the redline to 10,700 RPM in Sport mode, and provides a 0-60 kmph dash in only 2.7 seconds, and a top speed of 157 kmph. It has a constant torque of 35 Nm, which provides ample thrust throughout the mid range to achieve town and highway commutes.
Flawless Gear Shifts
Among the highlights is the bi-directional quickshifter, so-called Sport Shift, developed together with Bosch. It is an electronic-based system and enables one to change gears without using a clutch, which makes high-speed rides more exciting and flawless. It is only available in Sport mode and this mode makes sure the shifts occur with precision at speeds over 3,000 RPM whilst the downshifts may feel rough. This premium detail makes the NS400Z the base model Bajaj motorbike to have a quickshifter, which gives it a taste of luxury in its low cost.
Improved Ride Characteristics
The NS400Z has retained the edgy streetfighter front end using 43mm USD front forks, whilst the rear also uses a monoshock with preload adjustment. Suspension is firm but comfortable to ride on and it soaks up bumps rather well. Four riding modes are presented, including Sport, Road, Rain, and Off-Road, each with specific response to given throttle inputs and ABS interventions with Sport mode enabling full power potential of the bike.
Technical Specifications
The bike has got full color TFT display and has Bluetooth connectivity features providing navigation, call alerts and ability to control music. Traction control and dual-channel ABS improves safety, and a USB charging port increases versatility. It features signature lightning bolt LED Daytime Running Lights and projector headlights that give it a bold look although some riders might find the design old fashioned without offering new color schemes.
Worth The Price
Priced at just 1.92 lakhs, the NS400Z is one of the most competitively placed offerings in the market and the aforementioned upgrades make it the most sensibly priced motorcycle in India. The combination of affordable prices, power and technology in one has made it an ideal candidate to be among the leaders in the 400cc category.
